Letter from Laura Ling to her family-
When I first got here, I cried so much. Now, I cry less. I t very hard to think about positive things, but sometimes it is hard too. Some days I get to go outside and get some fresh air. In the early evening, I do some stretching. I also sit and meditate. I breathe deeply and think about positive things that have happened in the day. For example, I think “I’m lucky I made it through another day.” I’m lucky my family is working so hard to get me released. I’m thinking about you all constantly and how fortunate I am to have an amazing family. Stay strong and please take care of yourselves. That is my request. Know that I’m thinking of you and dreaming about being reunited with you all again.
All my love,
Laura

CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 will be taping LIVE from the LA Vigil at 6:45pm, so we want everyone to get there early enough to get candles and posters in hand. The Vigil will also include a short walk to the 3rd Street Promenade, and several musical performances. News crews from local networks ABC, NBC, and FOX will also be in attendance, so please help us spread the word. We want our voices to be heard all the way to the other side of the Pacific Ocean!
The families of Laura Ling and Euna Lee speak out on behalf of
their loved ones. Please to take a moment to watch their heartfelt
pleas to bring them home.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
today issued the following statement regarding
the sentencing
of two California journalists to
12 years of labor prison by North Korea’s Central Court:
“Maria and I were saddened to learn of the sentencing of
Laura Ling and Euna Lee.
In addition to sending them our
deepest thoughts and prayers, California stands
ready to offer any resources and assistance the federal
government may need to
bring these two journalists home safely.
Journalism is a vital part of freedom and democracy, and
we are all indebted to the men and women who risk their lives
around
the world to dig beneath the surface to uncover the
real stories. We must work to
ensure the safety of journalists
who search for the truth in parts of the world where
the press does not enjoy the freedom it deserves.”
